A Spine Tingling Saga

Saga by definition means, a long story of heroic achievement or, a long story full of incidents. This story is definitely the latter, no heroics to be found I assure you. Rewind three weeks ago and I woke up to find I couldn't turnover in bed. I had pain in my right lower back that … Continue reading A Spine Tingling Saga

This week I’ve had the pleasure of participating in the Annual RA Blog Week. It’s a wonderful event for bloggers from around the world to share their insights on what it’s like living with Rheumatoid Arthritis & often other associated autoimmune diseases.

Each day of the week a topic is chosen for bloggers to write about. On the last day of the week we are asked to highlight some of the great blogs we have read during the blogging event.

This year I can’t choose. I was really impressed with the varying writing styles & insights that each blogger brought to the event.

So, I’ve decided to highlight & applaud everyone 😊

Below are the topics for each day of the week. If you click on the topic title for each day it will take you to the most inspiring & awesome blogs.

Taking A “One Day At A Time” Philosophy With Chronic Illness

"Trigeminal Neuralgia.....what on earth is that?" That was my reaction when I was hospitalised in May 2014 with the most severe right-sided face pain that I had ever experienced in my life. I had been trying to cope with it for 3 weeks with strong pain killers. I was thinking it was just another idiosyncrasy special … Continue reading Taking A “One Day At A Time” Philosophy With Chronic Illness

A forum member on my FB group,  Medical Musings with Friends, posted an "open letter" that her husband recently wrote. It is so moving for anyone who is the primary caregiver for their loved one. I thank Him for giving me permission to publish it. To Whom It May Concern My wife was recently placed on … Continue reading An Open Letter from a Husband Concerning His Chronically Ill Wife

Body Behaving Badly

Those of us living with chronic illness will know only too well how our bodies rebel against us with little warning. Every morning I tentatively wake up, opening one eye at a time very slowly, scared to move. Will my body behave a little today? Will the slightest movement cause searing pain? Usually it's the … Continue reading Body Behaving Badly

A Chronic Disease Management Plan – Do You Have One?

At the start of a new week or month, I have a, "what's on your calendar?" segment on my Facebook Forum, Medical Musings with Friends. The idea is to take a quiet moment, to think about what lies ahead. We muse about how we are feeling, what we are concerned about, what we are excited about. … Continue reading A Chronic Disease Management Plan – Do You Have One?

Is Acceptance Just Resignation?

A friend recently posted a question in a Facebook Group, about ways to gain freedom in life, so you can choose how you want to live it. "What has most helped you to gain freedom in your life to choose exactly how you want to live it?" Jayne Bailey My response was one word. Acceptance. … Continue reading Is Acceptance Just Resignation?
