Reviewing My Writing Year….Thank You For Reading, Sharing and Listening!

As 2021 is coming to a close, I like to take time to reflect on my writing year.

I’ve so enjoyed blogging plus writing articles for The Mighty.

I launched my Podcast in 2020, Medical Musings With Sam, which has proved to be a wonderful way to bring my blog posts to life.

Thank you for sharing with me your own insights and life experiences.

My Newest Initiative….My Podcast

It has been such a delight to start a Podcast. I can’t thank my regular followers enough for helping me launch this new initiative.

I was so excited when I first launched the Podcast to include 3 interviews with 3 special ladies in my life. I thought these are well worth sharing again. Lots of fun and laughter was had while sharing their special stories.

An Interview With My Dear Friend, Nik Watson

Nik Watson is a beautiful friend and co-administrator on my FB Support Forum, Medical Musings with Friends. Nik has lived with Lupus since childhood and later in life Rheumatoid Arthritis was added to her chronic illness diagnosis list. She is so inspirational and I think you’ll enjoy joining us as we chat and laugh together in this special interview.

An Interview With Shannon Moss, My Daughter in law

My 2nd Interview was with my lovely daughter in law, Shannon Moss. Her amazing health journey with Intracranial hypertension is so worth listening to. She also openly shares her mental health journey which I know has resonated with so many listeners.

Shannon is an absolute delight and she announced on this Podcast interview she was pregnant with our beautiful Granddaughter born this year! The photo below shows our gorgeous Grandson who is now 4!!

An Interview With Dear Friend Kaye South

My 3rd Interview was with a very special long time friend and ex work colleague, Kaye South. Her story of courage and determination to raise a family, hold down a Leadership career, all while battling a benign brain tumour, severe Scoliosis, bowel cancer, Osteoporosis and much more, is truly inspirational.

This Is My Story Of Faith, This Is My Song

Lastly, my own story of faith and hope has also been one of my most popular Podcasts

A Special Collaboration

I was also involved in a very special book Collaboration in 2021 called “Chronically Empowered”

So excited my story is part of this amazing literary collaboration.

Thank you ImagineWe Publishers for including me as an author.

My story is in the category of “I am Ever Evolving ” which had never been so truer. As I remain mostly in my bedridden for over 12 weeks now,
my life will never be the same again. Unable to sit upright or stand for more than 5 mins, and barely able to walk, I am evolving, finding ways to continue conservative treatment at home so I can stay out of a nursing home. Finding ways to remain positive when I feel trapped in an unforgiving, diseased body.

On a separate note, despite my health worsening, I’m working with Imagine We Publishers on my own book…”My Medical Musings”.  We are well on the way to it being published in early 2022!!! A dream come true!

So excited about both books and they are wonderful distractions from my current health crisis.

If you would like a copy of “Chronically Empowered”, you canisit this link to purchase it:

About this book:
Over 60 exceptional, worldwide Chronic Illness Warriors describe how they embrace their chronic illnesses while providing educational information about them along the way. Influential Artists, Entrepreneurs, Advocates, and more celebrate how they have been able to adapt to their limitations and overcome their adversity, describe what they love most about themselves, and share advice for other warriors. Collaborating to paint an extraordinary picture of what it truly means to be resilient, and thrive beyond a diagnosis through passion and advocacy.

2022 Writing Adventures Await

I’m so looking forward to more writing adventures in 2022. The joy of writing never grows old. I hope I can continue to connect with you, my readers, in a meaningful way, as I share “my life of faith and hope living with a rare disease”.

Thank you again so much for sharing “My Medical Musings” journey with me throughout the year.

Take care and Happy Christmas

Sam xx

  1. You have done incredibly, insanely well, Sam!
I think there might either be a wee typo on the book release date or Covid has befuddled my brain more than I realised 😆 (“We are well on the way to it being published in early 2020”). Do you mean 2021? If so, that is mighty fast and very, very exciting! xxxx
